A lot of people around the world think that wrestling is fake. What they fail to understand is that the flamboyant moves performed by the wrestlers are all real. Wrestlers put their bodies on the line purely for the fans’ entertainment.
Wrestlers go over the top to make the match look more exciting, but sometimes it ends with an injury. This was unfortunately the case of Rey Mysterio, who got injured in a match against fellow LWO member Santos Escobar.

The injury occurred during a match between LWO members Rey Mysterio and Santos Escobar for the United States Championship Invitational. The United States Champion Austin Theory was watching the match high above the arena from a skybox with some popcorn.
There was no animosity between the two LWO members as they started off the match with a handshake. Escobar even mentioned that it was a privilege for him to share the ring with Hall Of Famer Rey Mysterio. The match seemed to be going on pretty well until Rey went out of the ring and Escobar executed a ‘Suicide Dive’ straight into Mysterio’s chest.
The match was later halted and the ringside doctor confirmed that Mysterio can no longer continue with the match. Thus, the match was won by Santos Escobar. But it was a bittersweet victory for Escobar who immediately went to check on Mysterio. Luckily Mysterio stood up and both the wrestlers hugged each other with respect showing that there was no heat between them
But Fans got really worried about Rey Mysterio’s condition. The shock among them was evocative of Mysterio’s ‘eye popping incident’ which had left fans dumbstruck back then.
Fans share their theories and concerns
When Escobar dived into Rey Mysterio and pushed him to the floor. Fans immediately went into a state of panic as Mysterio was not moving normally. But by God’s grace, Rey Mysterio was able to stand up post the match and hug Santos Escobar, showing that he is alright. But fans were concerned for their favorite Latino superstar.
Wow just wow. Did you not see how Rey’s head bounced off the ground? It’s so obvious in the slow motion. It was nobody’s fault.

There were a few theories among fans about what actually happened.
Very interesting.
Hope Rey is alright. Santos grabbed the right shoulder strap of Rey's outfit. That should have softened the blow. It also keeps Rey from pinning Santos and vice versa. That way, there's no tension within the LWO.— Kìng Kaì (@l8r2night) July 29, 2023
Possible pinched nerve? I get them in my spine which causes spinal lock. It is painful and lasts a few minutes until the discs relax and release the pressure off the nerve.
