The WWE Universe has been dealt consecutive blows in the last few days. While pro wrestling legend Terry Funk’s death left a void, it was Bray Wyatt’s unexpected demise that left many insiders and fans crushed. Amidst this barrage of bad news, fans were hoping for something positive, and their wishes have been granted. There’s an update on Jerry ‘The King’ Lawler, who was out with several health ailments. 

The August 28 episode of RAW provided it, coupled with a surprise for fans. Needless to say, it made many happy. Some of them took to social media platform X, erstwhile Twitter, to share their views. The development is particularly significant as there was a debilitating health update about him a few months ago, leaving his well-wishers worried. The latest RAW episode is likely to keep those worries at bay for now.

Jerry Lawler shows fighting spirit with latest appearance

Known for his flair and in-ring prowess, The King dazzled even more after hanging his wrestling boots. As a commentator, Lawler took the art to a new high, alongside fellow legend Jim Ross. So, when he fell ill, it created a void. Lawler’s witty takes on wrestling was also missed. On Monday night, he might have managed to fill that gap a little with his return.

In a digital exclusive footage shared by the WWE, Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens were seen sharing the positive news as they introduced Lawler to the Memphis crowd, who gave the legend a thunderous welcome.

While he didn’t look in the best of shape, the decorated pro wrestler came out and waved to the crowd and then acknowledged Zayn and Owens with customary handshakes. While the moment lasted only minutes, it surely was a positive sight.

Lawler had suffered a massive stroke on Feb 6 this year. He last appeared as a commentator in the month of January. A few months ago, former WWE employee Dutch Mantel had stated that Lawler’s right hand wasn’t functioning properly and he was having problems finishing sentences.

On the other hand, it is unlikely that Lawler will return to commentary anytime soon. As stated above, the former pro wrestler looked worn out.

 Fans are still mourning the dual deaths of Bray Wyatt and Terry Funk. Lawler’s return acted as some consolation during this difficult hours. This was also the message conveyed with this tweet.

This user seems to a fan of Lawler’s legendary mic skills.

Lawler’s return was bittersweet for some, including them. His segment was a digital exclusive, thus it wasn’t shown on TV. Notwithstanding that sentiment, the fan hoped The King was going well after the hardships he had to endure throughout this year.
