Apart from former WWE star John Morrison’s boxing debut what caught the fan’s eye was his impressive entourage which accompanied him to the ring. Various AEW and WWE stars walked out with the former ECW world heavyweight champion in a massive display of support. However, it is the appearance of a legend that was appreciated by many fans.
Morrison competed against Epic Meal Time’s Harley Morenstein and prevailed in the bout. He knocked his opponent in the third round of the fight which took place at the Creators Clash 2 event. Although many names were a part of his ensemble the legendary performer “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan’s presence was a surprise to many.

Duggan tackled an intruder in his South Carolina home in December last year. It was his first public appearance since then. No doubt the fans were very happy seeing the legend overcome all his issues and accompany Morrison to his debut in the boxing ring.
He has found himself in a tough health predicament in recent times. Duggan announced in October 2021 that he was suffering from prostate cancer. The 69-year-old completed his 39 sessions of radiation treatment in 2022 and triumphed over the dangerous illness.
He has had health issues in the past as well. In 2018, he was hospitalized as he was diagnosed with atrial fibrillation.

Prior to impressing one and all with his glove work, Morrison revealed that a former WWE superstar could have been his opponent and not Morenstein.
A former WWE superstar was the first choice as Morrison’s first boxing opponent
He made a revelation that Matt Cardona was the first choice of organizers for his opponent. Speaking to TMZ Sports’ Mojo Muhatadi, he said, “Let me tell you something about Matt Cardona. So, they asked me if I’d be willing to fight Harley {Morenstein} or Matt Cardona, and I asked him if he wanted to fight and he goes, ‘Bro, I’m not gonna fight anyone. I’m definitely not gonna fight you.”

“Bro, no. Are you crazy? No, I’m not gonna fight.’ But, literally, he was like my first phone call. They wanted me to fight broski.” added the six-time WWE tag team champion.
