“He’s Not Quite The Awesome”: 33-Year-Old Top Star Breaks Silence On Being Compared To The Miz

The WWE Universe always draws comparisons between present wrestlers and the wrestlers of bygone eras. LA Knight, for example, is constantly trolled for being a ripoff of Stone Cold Steve Austin, and The Rock. The 33-year-old WWE Superstar Grayson Waller is also facing a similar comparison where he is being compared to The Miz. Fans are linking him to The Miz because of his great mic skills and the fact that he hosts his own talk show.

Grayson Waller has had several run-ins with the biggest WWE Superstars like Edge, John Cena, and The Rock. Despite this, the Australian pro wrestler gets compared with The Miz because of his MC skills and the fact that he holds a talk show segment just like him.

Waller reveals his inspiration for the ‘Grayson Waller Effect’

The habit of WWE fans to compare certain WWE stars is not uncommon. The WWE Universe did not make an exception for Grayson Waller either when they compared him with The Miz. The WWE Superstar addressed the issue head-on at the MMA Hour show with Ariel Helwani. He also spoke about his talk show segment on WWE TV, ‘The Grayson Waller Effect.’

Speaking about his talk show segment, Waller said that he took his inspiration for the show from Roddy Piper. He said, “I watched a bunch of Piper’s pits, and like his ability to instigate and just his energy involved then I think it’s untouched.”

Waller also praised The Miz but denied the allegations of imitating the wrestler. He said that while the allegation on LA Knight for being a Stone Cold ripoff carries some value, he threw shade at The Miz by saying he’s not significant enough to be imitated.

 He also added- “I say it’s one thing to be compared to those two legends listen, you know he’s a legend in his own right, but he’s not quite the awesome do you get annoyed.”

Waller said he’s good in his own right, but he’s not very “awesome‘, and being called his copy is annoying.

Grayson Waller has a bright future ahead 

WWE has been giving Waller a lot of exposure recently and he has already had his run-ins with the best of the best in WWE. While the WWE superstar has not been a part of any significant feud so far, he has been getting a lot of attention, and the WWE will soon put him in bigger matchups.
