Kurt Angle and The Rock formed a key part of the classic Attitude Era of wrestling. The two have had their individual contribution to the business, along with their remarkable on-screen rivalry. While their battles in the ring couldn’t reach the level of The Rock vs Steve Austin or Kurt Angle vs Steve Austin feud, it still made a crucial impact among fans.

While being a relatively older member on the roster, The Rock used to come on the top in most of their encounters, Angle too got the better of him a few times, including his first WWE Championship title win defeating The Great One back in 2000.

Competition and rivalry are all good as long as they include the prefix ‘healthy’, something that the former Hall of Famer Kurt Angle is well aware of. Hence, the 54-year-old didn’t fall short praising the 10-time world champion for his impressive craft inside the squared circle.

During the latest episode of The Kurt Angle Show, the wrestling machine was asked about his experience of working alongside The Rock. In his answer, Angle termed The Rock an extraordinary talent and a very smooth co-worker as well. Watching his fellow star closely, Angle, however, didn’t refrain from pointing out his shortcomings in the technical part of the game.

He’s really athletic. Never heavy, and always got up for me well for my suplexes, my angles slams very athletic and just really talented. One of the most talented wrestlers I’ve ever been in the ring with.”

However, he added, “I wouldn’t say he’s technically sound in other words, he’s not a great technician. You know, chain wrestling, but he was really entertaining, and he was really athletic.”

Despite garnering enough praise and recognition, The Rock, however, failed to make it to the list of favorites of Kurt Angle.

Last year during a one-to-one interview with NBC Sports Boston, the Hall of Famer laid down the list of his favorite wrestlers to include in his Mount Rushmore of pro wrestling. He picked himself, Steve Austin, Bryan Danielson, and The Undertaker. The Rock was, however, nowhere in his mention.
