One of the greatest names in the wrestling business, Dwayne Johnson is also extremely popular in Hollywood. Having an estimated net worth of $800 million, Johnson still lacks one major thing that several competitors have.

Despite being the highest-paid actor in the industry, Johnson’s films fail to captivate the cinephile audience or bring forward praises from the critics. Often a part of mainstream and commercial films, The Rock is a little behind in reaching the G.O.A.T status in the industry.

Which is that one thing that is preventing Dwayne Johnson from reaching the G.O.A.T status?

The Brahma Bull of WWE has been in the film industry for over 20 years now and has reached the epitome of the success pyramid. However, Johnson’s major success came in the form of monetary gain, which he used to pursue other ventures and investments to step closer to a billionaire status.

However, unlike his contemporaries, $350 million worth Will Smith, Leonardo DiCaprio, and even his mentor Brendan Fraser, Dwayne Johnson lacks one of the most significant achievements in the film industry, an Academy Award.

Although a recipient of several awards, Johnson is yet to receive his extremely respected and esteemed award. While, Fraser won the Academy Award in 2023 for his role in The Whale, and Smith won in 2022 for King Richard. DiCaprio also won the award back in 2016 for The Revenant.

The 51-year-old actor has often hailed Brendan Fraser as his mentor but hasn’t been able to replicate his critical success.

However, while Johnson never won the award, he even failed to get nominated for it as well. Currently, on a bad run of films starting with Black Adam, Johnson is yet to recover from that hit. His last personal win came at The Nickelodeon Awards 2023 for Black Adam.

Will fans ever witness Dwayne Johnson win an Academy Award?

With his current run of films, it is highly unlikely that Johnson would earn a nomination. However, a change in his choice of scripts, and inclining towards more plot-based films in the near future could always earn him that spot.

Currently, Dwayne Johnson needs to bounce back from his recent struggles and show the world what he is capable of. A string of failures does not take away who Johnson is and what he has achieved, and he needs to stay motivated and come back stronger.
