Tonight’s edition of RAW gave way to several amazing storylines. The WWE decided to build up a feud between CM Punk and ‘The American Nightmare’ Cody Rhodes. The promotion also dropped a hint about who the opponent will be for ‘Mami’ Ripley at WrestleMania 40. However, the highlight of the show came when they teased the major return of a retired star. And it is none other than Hulk Hogan.
Hogan appeared in a special video package commemorating the 40th anniversary of Hulkamania. The video featured The Hulkster speaking while footage depicted the birth of Hulkamania. The video package highlighted his iconic WWE Championship triumph over The Iron Sheik in 1980 at Madison Square Garden.
Following more videos from his storied career, Hogan discussed the men’s and women’s Royal Rumble on Saturday, even teasing himself as a potential surprise entrant. As he said, “You never know … I might have one left in me.”

Hogan is still a colossal figure within the WWE itself due to his widespread impact during his heyday. Fans have expected to see Hogan return to WWE programming soon in some fashion. However, no one saw this coming. The 70-year-old hasn’t wrestled since his last match for TNA back in 2012. It isn’t a big secret that age has caught up with him. Add the toll on his body that years of wrestling and surgeries took on him, and one can see this being a recipe for disaster.
The idea of a retired pro wrestler making a surprise entry in the Royal Rumble is not new. Goldberg came out of retirement back in 2017, Mick Foley in 2012, and Booker-T in 2022 to participate in the exciting stipulation. Nevertheless, no one who has touched 70 has stepped foot into the ring for the match. So despite all the excitement it could bring, fans would be hoping that Hogan prioritizes his safety over thrills.
