He said- ” I’ve always been in this corner. Sometimes it most your grand, you know, when you take a guy that you really believe has something to offer, that I did with Regal. Then you take him into Vince McMahon’s office.”

In the early days of Regal’s career, Ross pitched him to McMahon, believing he would be a valuable addition to the WWE roster. However, during the crucial meeting with McMahon, Regal fell asleep while Ross passionately presented his pitch.

He added, “He did some self-destructive things, but it didn’t mean he didn’t have a good heart, didn’t mean he didn’t have a great knowledge of the business. He’s a really good teacher and has a great eye for talent. But uh, when you go when you fall asleep in the on your big interview in the boss’s office, it kind of cuts your feet out from the interview.”

Ross candidly recounted the incident, saying, “I look at Regal, and he’s asleep. So that kind of killed my pitch. Not even my salesmanship could salvage it.” The older man looked at it like he just wasted my time with this guy. So that’s how that started, but I always had great confidence in Regal. I really did still do. He’s a great asset to anybody’s company.”
