Shane McMahon was one of the names to appear at the recently concluded WrestleMania. He made his in-ring return after being away for more than a year, to face The Miz at The Grandest Stage of Them All. However, it was short-lived. Moments after the match began, Shane suffered an injury and was unable to continue the fight.

Later, it was revealed that the junior McMahon had suffered a torn quad. It bore an eerie similarity to his father’s predicament 18 years ago. In 2005, Vince McMahon tore both his quads while trying to enter the ring in a fit of rage. The Boss was unhappy with Batista and John Cena botching the ending of the 2005 Royal Rumble and decided to confront them, but it didn’t go as planned.

WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair has recently revealed the general notion about Vince’s injury back then while discussing Shane-O-Mac’s torn quad.

Ric Flair thought Vince McMahon had suffered a heart attack during the 2005 Royal Rumble

The 16x World Champion made the revelation on the latest episode of the To Be The Man podcast. “We thought when Vince tore his [quads], he had a heart attack,” Flair said.

Praising the legendary promoter, Flair said McMahon would never shy away from trying anything. “The one thing about him that I’ve said my whole career is he [Vince McMahon] doesn’t ask anything of anybody that he wouldn’t do himself, if he was physically able. And that’s pretty much the mindset that he works with,” he added.

Speaking about Shane McMahon, he said, “God only knows Shane, Jesus Christ (laughs), what has Shane done (laughs). Shane is a tough kid too.”

Numerous members of the McMahon family have suffered torn quads. Both Vince McMahon and his son-in-law, Triple H, have suffered the injury. Shane-O-Mac’s injury was the recent addition to the list.

Meanwhile, while Flair said he thought Vince McMahon was having a heart attack, he himself experienced the same many years later.

Believe it or not, Ric Flair faked a heart attack in his last match, on July 31, 2022. The legend had partnered with his son-in-law Andrade El Idolo to go toe-to-toe with Jeff Jarrett and Jay Lethal.
