WrestleMania is one of the biggest WWE events of the year. It has presented more than a fair share of iconic moments to WWE fans. However, Seth Rollins getting RKOed mid-air by Randy Orton at WrestleMania 31 stands the test of time. The incident occurred on March 29, 2015, at Levis Stadium in Santa Clara California. Rollins is set to make another grand appearance at WrestleMania 39. However, before the big event, The Architect reminisced on this stunning moment eight years ago. Rollins shared how Randy Orton almost messed the rko right at the end.

Seth Rollins on how Randy Orton forgot to cover him

In a recent Instagram post, Seth Rollins spoke about his enthralling WrestleMania bout against Randy Orton on March 29, 2015. Both Rollins and Orton brought their respective best to the match. Rollins gained the upper hand on multiple occasions, but Orton had the last laugh. As Legend Killer struck a well-timed mid-air ‘RKO outta nowhere’ to bring the his opponent down.

Seth Rollins described the moment and said “When I ran, I put my foot, it was just one of those where I hit it and I knew it. I got up in the air, I got super flat, we made eye contact. He hits the thing and he forgets to cover me.”

 

The Legend Killer had to soak in his success

Rollins just lay there for a second, as confused as the match official, Mike Chioda. Meanwhile, Orton took a moment to bask in the glory of executing a successful finisher in a rampant arena.

Nevertheless, The Apex Predator got back to his senses and finished it by pinning Rollins.

Seth Rollins recollected this incident and said “If you watch it back, he hits it and he stands up immediately. Starts Randy-firing up, however he does, which was a complete shoot. I think Cone was our referee, or maybe Chioda, and he was like ‘cover him, cover him!’ He was so excited that it worked.”

Therefore, the WWE superstar laughed about the little mess up from Orton. But, still felt great about pulling it off, without any hiccups, in front of the entire audience.
