“He Came Down and Apologized”- Hulk Hogan Recalls the Only Time He Met the King of Pop Michael Jackson

In June 2009, the world lost a legend when pop icon Michael Jackson passed away due to cardiac arrest. Very few lucky people got to meet him during his lifetime and one of those lucky people is the WWE legend, Hulk Hogan. In a recent interview, Hogan revealed that he met the ‘King of Pop’ once when his daughter, Brooke Hogan, was around eight years old.

The time when Hulk Hogan met Michael Jackson at Disney

Hogan recently appeared as a special guest on Theo Von’s This Past Weekend podcast. During the interview, he discussed his only encounter with Michael Jackson. Being a popular star himself, ‘The Hulkster’ once bumped into another famous personality, Jackson, at Disney.

He was on a tourist bus with his family and was about to enjoy Disney fireworks with his first wife and two kids. Jackson also made an appearance. Therefore, the security guards cleared the way for the larger-than-life icon. The security guards asked Hogan and his family to get off the bus and move to its far side so Jackson could pass through.

Detailing Jackson’s polite nature, Hogan revealed that Jackson later apologized to him for his security guards making them move. “That’s the only time I’ve met him was when they made us move down and get out of his way. I don’t think they want us to look at him or anything. But he came down and apologized.”

Hogan was very cool about the whole incident, but his daughter Brooke was over the moon when she saw Jackson standing in front of her.

During the interview, the WWE legend revealed that his daughter, Brooke, was ecstatic to see Michael Jackson at Disney. In Hogan’s words, she was “flipping” when she got to see the ‘King of Pop’ live in front of her eyes. Hogan revealed that she was around seven or eight years old during the time.

Brooke has always been a huge fan of Jackson and admires him very much. One time, she even compared her father to the ‘King of Pop’ and called him the Michael Jackson of wrestling to establish the magnanimity of her father’s wrestling career.

Jackson was a popular pop star in the 80s and 90s while Hogan shone in the wrestling forefront in the same period. Hogan reciting the incident just shows how polite and down-to-earth Jackson was.
