HBO’s Succession Star Rubbishes Batista’s WWE Career but Praises His Acting Skills: “He Didn’t Have the Most Appealing Screen Presence”

Dave Bautista, popularly known as Batista in the WWE Universe, has once again grabbed the spotlight. However, it is not about his in-ring return. 

It is because HBO’s Succession fame actor Kieran Culkin rubbished his wrestling career while praising his acting skills simultaneously.

Succession star prefers Batista as an actor

Recently, Kieran Culkin appeared on the ‘First We Feast’ YouTube channel. There, he was talking about the new season of his famous HBP series ‘Succession’. During the interview, the host asked Culkin about his favorite professional wrestler.

To this, he named Batista. But he didn’t particularly praise his wrestling skills. He called Batista a decent wrestler but an amazing actor. Culkin said that when he saw Batista in the ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’, it blew his mind. 

Talking about Batista, Kieran Culkin said, “Batista was sort of decent as a wrestler, and I thought he didn’t have the most appealing screen presence as a wrestler, but then I saw him in Guardians of the Galaxy, and he blew me away….I was like, ‘This guy is so funny. Where the hell was this guy?’”

Culkin further explained the possible reason that could have been an obstacle in his professional wrestling career.

Culkin believes Batista’s in-ring character didn’t match his real personality

Later, Culkin elaborated on how Batista’s in-ring character was crafted. He said that his character didn’t have much humor to it and in Hollywood; the scenario was quite opposite.

“I guess just the character he was playing as a wrestler didn’t have much humor to him and wasn’t really that alive…….You don’t really… like there can be some sort of evolution but that’s sort of it whereas like then Bautista got to play someone else and he was great at that and I’ve seen him in things since and really good they just didn’t see that because of the character he chose to play as a wrestler.” said Culkin.

This is not the first time when someone from the Hollywood industry has praised Batista’s acting skills. The Knives Out director Rian Johnson also believes that the six-time world champion is the best among all wrestlers-turned-actors.
