The 7x WWE Champion sat with his former UFC peer Daniel Cormier ahead of WrestleMania 39 and made an honest confession.

Lesnar told the former UFC Heavyweight Champion that he wanted an opportunity to be a champion again, but he also mentioned he didn’t need it.

“…we all wanna be a champion, but I don’t think at this point in my career that I really need it, but I would like another opportunity at it if things worked out that way, yeah, but things are crazy in this business,” Lesnar said.

This makes it clear that The Beast Incarnate is reluctant, but will prowl at an opportunity if presented. A few days after the interview, he proved his word as he mauled The Prince Of Pro Wrestling.

Meanwhile, the Lesnar-Rhodes storyline could be a game changer for the WWE.

Is Brock Lesnar-Cody Rhodes feud a masterstroke by WWE?

With Lesnar’s arrival, the linear storyline between Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns has received a major twist. If Dusty Rhodes’ younger son wants to capture the belts to finish his story, Lesnar might want to do it to avenge his WrestleMania 38 loss to The Tribal Chief. There’s no shortage of motives.

However, a finer look paints a different picture.

Without an iota of doubt, Lesnar is a bigger star than Roman Reigns ever was and currently is. And in the absence of John Cena, he is perhaps the biggest star in the WWE roster currently. So, here’s two possible reasons WWE creative decided to introduce Brock Lesnar.

One: They want to give Reigns a break. The current Undisputed WWE Universal Champion is nearing a 1,000-day reign, and that is a long time. It might cause fans to lose interest in seeing the same top guy for so long. Having a strong storyline that can run parallel will keep fans engaged.

Two: They want Cody Rhodes to go over a bigger star. This will boost Rhodes’ resume. Beating Brock Lesnar has been fruitful for other champions like John Cena and Roman Reigns in the past. In fact, Reigns’ current reign as an Undisputed Champion started after beating Lesnar. So, a feud till Backlash between Lesnar and Rhodes, with the latter winning at the premium event, can set up an interesting clash between Reigns and the former WWE Tag Team Champion.
