nWo had an outstanding run in WCW for a long time. Hulk Hogan, Kevin Nash, and Scott Hall took over WCW, and the company went on a winning streak for straight 83 weeks. All three members of the faction had a certain level of creative control in Ted Turner’s company. However, this made an issue between them and recently Hogan’s good friend Nash shared how it created friction within the nWo.
‘Big Daddy Cool’ shed a light that it was The Hulkster who was the reason for creating friction among the faction. He explained on how all the members had different views over nWo’s booking, which became an issue later.

The Immortal One had cut a “smart” deal with WCW as per Kevin Nash. This allowed Hulk Hogan to have creative control over his booking in the company. However, sometimes it created problems with nWo members, as Big Daddy Cool recently said in his podcast Kliq This.
Nash said, “By the time it didn’t work for Hulk, there was already friction between us. That was some of the problem, because Hulk was always so used to, and I’ll just use his direct quote, his entire career, people stood underneath the Hogan apple tree and waited for a golden apple to fall.”
He added, “They’d get a six-month run with Hulk, have the run of their life, and they would move on. And he said ‘You two pr*cks come in, you come in with chainsaws, and try to cut the f**king tree down.’ I can’t say he wasn’t wrong in feeling that way.”
“It’s just that we had a vision, and … we were ten years younger than he was, if not more. So I mean … he wasn’t listening to west coast rap. We just had a vision that the more that we could, because … it became pop culture-ish, but it wasn’t pop culture,” the two-time WWE Hall of Famer added.
There are several claims of Hogan having a massive influence in the creative department. However, Eric Bischoff has stated he only used his creative power on the night of his match against Sting at Starrcade 1997.

Nevertheless, even though there was friction among the group, nWo had a great influence on pop-culture. Nash recalled of an instance when he understood their influence on the fans.
Kevin Nash shares a kid got a warning from his principal for wearing a nWo t-shirt
The late 90s was wild and hence nWo became a pop culture icon. Diesel recently recalled about a fan sharing a letter with him which was from his principal.
The principal had written a warning letter for the student’s parents advising their kids to stop wearing nWo t-shirts in school. There were fights as the students called themselves members of the faction and ‘roughen up the other guys out of the playground during recess’.
