Mike Johnson from PWInsider recently confirmed the news that Taker will be present in Detroit for SummerSlam weekend. However, the report also states that he will not perform his 1 deadMAN SHOW in Detroit during the weekend, which usually does when WWE has a PLE in place.

WWE has announced plans to hold a tryout camp in the city, during which they plan to produce material for the WWE Network. So far, there is further news regarding Taker’s presence in Détroit and what role will he play there. But according to many in the WWE Universe, he may confront Grayson Waller.

For quite a few weeks now, Waller has been taking jabs at superstars like Dwayne Johnson, John Cena, and Steve Austin. His recent target became ‘The Phenom’. Going to his Twitter handle, he shared an animated GIF of himself mocking Taker by doing the WWE legend’s classic throat-cut gesture.

Taker officially confirmed his retirement during an interview in November 2020. The last time fans saw the WWE Hall of Famer on WWE TV was in January 2023. He made a special appearance on Raw is XXX, during a promo segment between LA Knight and Bray Wyatt.

His last match was against AJ Styles where he defeated ‘The Phenomenal One’ in a Boneyard match at WrestleMania 36. Plus, the last time he was present at Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan, was when he defeated Batista and won the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 23.
