Not only is he one of the highest-paid actors in the movie business, but Dwayne Johnson knows how to sell a product. Whether it is his Hollywood movies, tequila brand Teremana, or a wrestling promo in WWE, The Rock has a great way to attract people. Just a few days ago, a fan tweeted that the directors of the upcoming God of War series on Amazon Prime were considering Johnson for the main role. Many fans criticized this rumor and started insulting Johnson’s acting chops, as well as recommending another WWE star Batista for the main role.
Getting all this traction, inevitably, the director of the God of War series chimed in, saying, “I have literally never heard anything about this.”

With the confirmation that this rumor isn’t true, some fans were relieved. But this also broke a lot of fans’ hearts who thought that Johnson would be a great fit for Kratos.
But this isn’t the first time that Johnson has been connected to an adaptation. From comic book movies to video game adaptations, Johnson knows his way around this part of Hollywood as well.
Adaptations that The Rock has been a part of in the past
One of the most recent and popular adaptations that Johnson was a part of was Black Adam. While the movie didn’t do great at the box office, fans loved Johnson’s depiction. Even when talking about box office numbers, Black Adam is the most successful film since its release in the DCEU.

Another adaptation that’s less popular is Doom from 2005. Way earlier in his career, Johnson tried his hand at the popular video game, but it didn’t work out. Though, if the director thinks The Rock is a brilliant choice for Kratos, Johnson can show people his improvement in the 18 years since that movie.
