As stated above, there was no shortage of drama in the August 11 episode of SmackDown. Fans had expected a good segment from The Bloodline, especially after what happened at SummerSlam on August 5. It started in the usual fashion, Reigns asking the crowd to acknowledge him. He looked fresher than he had in the past few weeks, probably due to the win at the aforementioned PLE.

The Tribal Chief inquired about Jimmy Uso and asked Paul Heyman if the Wiseman had been in contact with the older Uso sibling. After Jimmy came out to the ring, Reigns asked him to name his price for the help at SummerSlam. While he refused, Reigns mocked him. In the meantime, Jey Uso walks out and confronts his twin.

Jimmy Uso tells him that the betrayal was necessary to prevent him from becoming corrupt like Reigns by taking on the title of The Tribal Chief. As the brothers have a back and forth, Reigns picks on Jey as well. It ends with Jey delivering a superkick to Reigns, like he has been doing for the past few weeks.

Jey Uso manages to kick Solo Sikoa after getting attacked by him. But Reigns hits him with a Superman Punch, setting himself to spear Jey Uso. Dodging that, Jey delivers another kick and a spear to Reigns.

As he walks out of the ring, Jey opens his arms wide and walks towards his brother. Hoping to get a hug, the older Uso sibling does the same, but is met with a superkick. Jey Uso then says he’s out of The Bloodline, SmackDown and the WWE as he crosses the barricade and retreats through the crowd.

While this was a big moment, several fans went gaga over Roman Reigns selling ability.

Top heel Roman Reigns gets fans to like him

Like many of his peers, Reigns has also worked as both face and heel in the promotion. While his appearance as a face has lukewarm responses from the WWE Universe, Roman Reigns as a heel has achieved ground-breaking success.

His current run as the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion, which has been over 1000+ days, has been as a heel. While Reigns gets hate both online and from the crowd present due to the megalomaniacal nature of his gimmick, he has delivered the numbers consistently.

This time, fans couldn’t help but notice Reigns’ selling ability.

As Jey Uso’s superkick connected, Reigns fell thud on the ring. Showing the potent nature of the attack from his attacker. “Romans selling is top tier,” reckoned this user on Instagram.

Another said, “Romans superkick sell is 🔥🔥🔥.”

But why are fans so impressed with selling and what is it, actually? Selling is an integral part of pro wrestling, which is different from amateur wrestling. Pro wrestling combines storytelling and is partially choreographed, meaning the results are predetermined. So, to achieve the results, the wrestlers themselves have to make it look more authentic. This requires one to act out as if the hit they took had an effect on them, or not, depending on the story they are trying to tell. “Gawdddd! Roman sold that kick so well,” said this user.

Happy with Reigns performance, this comment from a fan highlighted how Reigns has been able to justify his high price tag in the WWE. “His selling has improved leaps and bounds over the years… Getting top dollars for a reason,” the comment read.

That selling left them impressed as well. “Damn, the way Reigns sold that Superkick!” they wrote.
