While it takes years at the highest level to gain a significant amount of experience and confidence for most, WWE’s newest graduate, Grayson Waller, is built differently. The 33-year-old might have been on the other side of his 30s while debuting on the main roster last May, but he’s not short of confidence.
In fact, Waller is so confident that he wanted to give his ‘rub’ to legends like John Cena, who declined it with an Attitude Adjustment to the SmackDown star in front of nearly 19,000 spectators. But despite the humiliation, Waller’s fandom has witnessed a growth in recent weeks. In an interesting turn of events, the Australian pro wrestler has slammed WWE fans for being shallow-minded. Here’s why.

It hasn’t even been three months since WWE introduced the SmackDown star, but he’s already been a part of some memorable segments. While weeks following his debut in May had fans confused about his exact role in the main roster, they have started to warm up to him.
It mostly changed after Waller had the famous mic duel with John Cena at Money In The Bank PLE. He proved his worth by stepping inside the ring and matching blows verbally with the 16-time world champion. When you can keep up with John Cena on the microphone, you will definitely get the fans’ attention and that’s exactly what happened to Waller. But he’s not very happy about it.
“All of a sudden, everyone switches because fans are so easy to change. Now it’s, ‘Wow, he’s so good.’ Get off the bandwagon, I don’t need you on my side,” Waller said while appearing as a guest on The MMA Hour With Ariel Helwani.
“I think I proved myself, not only to people online, but people backstage,” he added. While whether he has proven himself or not is still up for debate, there’s no debating that many were surprised when he spoke about Dwayne Johnson needing the ‘Grayson Waller Rub’ during a backstage interview last week. It surely looks like Waller is ready for a ‘rub’ at any time. Only time will tell what exactly it is and how Waller plans to give it to other superstars.
Meanwhile, Waller also talked about setting up the segment with Cena.

As mentioned above, Waller performs in the blue brand. Before the Money In The Bank PLE, the SmackDown episode preceding the PLE took place in the UK. Waller was also a part of the event and traveled with others.
However, many of the talents had returned home as they did not participate in Money In The Bank. When people saw Waller backstage, still hanging around, they gave him a confusing look.

“I’m walking around all day, and people are like, ‘why is he here? The SmackDown crew flew home yesterday.’,” he said. Waller said not a lot of people knew about Cena’s presence. To not risk raising suspicion, he also told those who questioned that he was just hanging out.
