Fans Call Out WWE 2K24’s “Extremely Lazy” Behavior After Revealing Showcase Mode

WWE 2K24 showed off some of the battles in this year’s showcase mode, a celebration of 40 years of WrestleMania. You can see 16 of the 21 available battles in the show and the trailer. There will be 16 matches of the 39 WrestleMania. 

Yet fans are not showing much excitement over this. There will be at least a couple more WrestleManias in the mode, though, since five more fights will still come out. 

Unexpected Match Count in Showcase Mode Confirmed in WWE 2K24

For sure, WWE 2K24’s Showcase game will have a total of 21 events. Showcase is one of the best game modes in the WWE 2K series, so it makes sense that it’s back for WWE 2K24. 

WWE 2K24’s Showcase mode isn’t focusing on a single celebrity. Instead, it’s focused on honouring WrestleMania for 40 years. Because of this, the game will have some of the biggest fights in the history of WrestleMania. 

Since the announcement was made, fans over social media are not showing excitement about that. They are confused from the word count of matches that WWE 2k24 made & calling WWE games are becoming extremely lazy. They were expecting more battle rounds. 

Although there isn’t a full list of the WWE 2K24 Showcase matches available, it has been revealed that the game will have 21 matches from the 1980s, 1990s, 2000s, 2010s, and 2020s. Bryan Williams, the creator of WWE 2K24, told about this in an interview.

Roman vs. Cody at WrestleMania 39 is a must-see match

If you smash and stack Cody vs Roman in WWE 2K24, it seems wrong, but if you look at the past of the Grandest Stage of Them All, it’s a big fight. That’s impossible—this could not be the Showcase Mode without this match. It also makes sense to play as the winner in every other case, but this match differs. The story is over for almost every other match in WWE 2K24’s Showcase Mode. Cody Rhodes’ story isn’t over yet. 

As of late, that story has been taking on some side quests, but with The Royal Rumble, it’s back in full force. 

Cody Rhodes will face Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 40. It’s not clear what will happen at WrestleMania 39, but it’s only one stop in this story. After that, everything else would be over.
