‘The Hulkster’ was the ultimate babyface of pro wrestling. However, in 1996, he relinquished his babyface character to turn heel. He joined hands with Kevin Nash and Scott Hall to form nWo. He expected to garner a lot of heat from his fans but instead was surprised with their positive response.
We don’t know about others, but this moment surely lives in King’s mind rent-free. While speaking on his show, The Tim King Show, he confessed he broke down into tears when he saw his favorite superstar turned heel.
He said, “There has never been a character reinvention ever, what Hulk Hogan did in WCW. I cried in a trip in the Wisconsin Dells. When I was 12 years old, I saw the replay on Nitro, what Hogan did the day before and I was like and my dad’s like are you serious right now?”
But that didn’t stop him from admiring ‘Hulkamania’ and his work inside the ring. He confessed that Hogan was his childhood wrestling hero. And he claimed his idol was not only the greatest babyface but also the greatest heel of all time.
Ace Darling shared the same opinion as him. He also heaped praise on the WWE Hall of Famer for his immaculate performances over the years.
