Former WWE Commentator Snubs Roman Reigns’ Tribal Chief Gimmick to Pick 53-Year-Old Wrestler as the Greatest Heel of All Time

WWE is famous for several things. One of those must be the iconic heels the promotion has seen. The wrestlers are often so immersed in their character that it appears to be their true personality. WWE legend Jim Ross has had his run-ins with many such heels. In fact, the feud was so prevalent that fans could see Ross hate the heel.

The WWE Hall of Famer was out of direct competition with other wrestlers since he wasn’t an in-ring performer himself. However, being a babyface commentator, he had a close look at Triple H’s heel run. Despite expressing his displeasure with HHH’s heel tactics during his days as a commentator Ross has still chosen Levesque as the best heel of all time, leaving Roman Reigns behind.

WWE Hall of Famer chooses Triple H over Roman Reigns

The Tribal Chief could be regarded as the biggest heel on the current roster. However, when it comes to picking the best, Ross has a different opinion. There was a time when Ross used to be the voice behind WWE matches. Around the same time, Triple H was growing as a heel first during the Attitude Era and then in the Ruthless Aggression Era. Ross would often show his storyline hate for the wrestler on commentary.

Although some assume a lot of disdain he expressed towards The Game was real, The Hall of Famer explained that it was merely a part of his kayfabe. Ross was required to make people dislike Triple H. However, he found it difficult because he deems Triple H to be, “a guy that’s got a great body, is very athletic, tremendous timing, really really good on the stick.”

Ross also called Triple H, “arguably the best heel in wrestling.” All the commentator’s beliefs are tied to Triple H’s persistent growth as a  heel during his wrestling days. However, this is not the first time he has praised Triple H for his work.

Even prior to this podcast, Ross has recalled Triple H as the ‘best heel’ in WWE. He believes that ever since Levesque accepted the post of WWE’s CCO, his time as a wrestler has been overlooked. However, that’s not the ultimate truth, as fans still remember him as the ‘greatest heel in WWE history’.

Roman Reigns has also worked hard for his part in the promotion. For plenty of fans, The Tribal Chief probably stands atop all heels given his current. However, according to Jim Ross, no heel can come close to Triple H’s level.
