WWE has a lot of mid-card talents that eventually get pushed toward the upper tier. The level is often used for talents to keep them motivated to perform better and stay consistent. Edge, Rey Mysterio, and Eddie Gurrero are examples of wrestlers who had been promoted to the top tier from mid-card.

Now, soon to join them is another mid-card performer who has impressed the management with his sheer dedication and work ethic. The former US Champion is now set for a major push due to his hard work.  

WWE wants to push Senor MITB Damian Priest

Wrestle Ops posted a picture of Senor MITB Damian Priest with the Undisputed Tag Team Championships on X on November 7th. The caption for the tweet read, “There’s been a lot of praise lately internally for Damian Priest. Word is that over the last several months, Priest has really impressed WWE management by how hard & physical he’s worked & for gutting through quite a few times where he’s been banged up but kept going. — PWInsider”

PWInsider reports that WWE management is highly impressed by the work ethic of Damian Priest. The Archer of Infamy joined WWE’s main roster on RAW on 1st February after being a surprise entrant in the 2021 Royal Rumble. He was immediately presented as a baby face and teamed up with fellow Puerto Rican superstar Bad Bunny to face The Miz and John Morrison.

After a successful run as a baby face and US Championship, he joined The Judgment Day during WrestleMania 38. Since then, he has been one of the best heels on the RAW brand, often engaging in gripping storylines.

Apart from his character work, his in-ring skills have also been top-notch. He has kept up with top talents like Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins, while also feuding in matches against celebrity wrestlers like Bad Bunny.

Hence, WWE awarded him an MITB win as they see him as a potential World Champion. However, his MITB case has since been stolen at Crown Jewel by Sami Zayn. But what is the way forward for Damian Priest?

What will WWE do with Damian Priest’s MITB contract?

Seth Rollins was bruised and damaged after his match against Drew McIntyre at Crown Jewel. Damian Priest took the opportunity to cash in his MITB contract, only for Sami Zayn to ruin the party.

WWE has the opportunity to build a feud between the two before pulling the trigger on Priest. They can build intrigue around the stolen briefcase and turn it into a mystery plot. Or they can build a briefcase match between the two superstars, something they did for The Miz and Otis.
