Former Champion’s Actions on NXT Reminded Fans of CM Punk’s Wife, 8 Years After Her Last WWE Appearance

But after his initial return on AEW Rampage, the aura around him has decreased, but the same can’t be said about his wife.

For the uninitiated, CM Punk is married to one of the most iconic wrestlers to step foot in a wrestling ring, especially in the WWE scene. Now, her influence is so wide, even after leaving WWE, her influence can be clearly seen in top NXT stars.

In just over a few years, AJ Lee made her mark in the WWE landscape. Despite being tiny and feeble-looking, Lee had a charisma that boosted her rank among the Divas’ era wrestlers. From her honest promo about the Total Divas to her excellent chemistry with almost every wrestler to step in the ring with her, she had it all.

Her careless yet clinic-style wrestling was a great addition to her character work out of the ring. This way she became an inspiration to many young girls watching her compete on the biggest stage at the time. Her current pictures also give fans hope that she’ll return, but nothing’s certain. In another world though, NXT stars Roxanne Perez and Cora Jade have said that Lee’s work in WWE inspired and influenced them and it is clear to see.

But this latest punch from the former NXT Women’s Champion, Roxanne Perez, got people mistaking her for Lee. Some even thought she imitated the same punch from Lee from back in the day.

From the physique to the moves, Perez is very similar to Lee in the ring, but it was this punch on the recent NXT show that got people talking about her on Instagram.
