15 Years Before Going Their Separate Ways, Dwayne Johnson Credited Dany Garcia for Changing His Life in a Big Way

Dwayne Johnson is the biggest box office megastar in Hollywood today. The star walked on the laurels that only a few have achieved in WWE. But not many outside his movies know about his love for football and his initial struggling days as an aggressive man. In a throwback interview, Johnson once shed light on his hardships during his initial days and how his ex-wife Dany Garcia saved him.  

Dwayne Johnson- aggressive man?

Johnson, over the years, has shared his love for NFL and why he chose football over WWE. The Great One said how WWE was always in his heart, but the financial struggles and The Rock’s desire to buy his parents’ home made him switch to football.

However, like others, the Rock was an aggressive man initially, as he was struggling to make ends meet. The Rock mentioned in an old interview about his aggression and lack of focus in his early struggles. He said, “As life is unpredictable, so for me trying to channel that night, I did. I had a lot of aggression and I got into a lot of trouble and it was difficult for me at that time to focus and understand. Why me?”

He continued by saying how he started playing football for the University of Miami, but still couldn’t focus. The superstar lost his place on the football team and returned home with a mere $7 in his pocket. But like destiny has it, the $7 bucks changed his life forever.

In the same interview, Johnson also mentioned how he found support from his first wife, Garcia. He quoted: “The truth of the matter is I met my wife. I met her that night and Danny, and yeah, she completely blew me away and that’s what happened.”

This relationship helped stabilize the rock and shape himself as a man. The two had a successful marriage from 1997 to 2008. Unfortunately, the two divorced in 2008 and went their separate ways, but they remain friends.

For the unversed, Dany Garcia is a successful businesswoman, producer, and IFBB professional bodybuilder.

The ex-couple co-founded the Seven Bucks production in 2012. Over the years, she has also joined hands with The Rock’s other massive business ventures like Teremana Tequila, ZOA Energy, and recently the XFL. To add to her credibility, she has also produced a bunch of Johnson movies like Skyscraper, Red Notice, and Jungle Cruise.

While Johnson has moved on in his life to marry Lauren Hashian in 2019, Garcia remains a strong pillar of support for the former WWE Champion in his business ventures.
