Fearful of Repeating History, Hulk Hogan Makes Major Revelation About Quitting Alcohol

When it comes to wrestlers, alcohol and prescription pain medication take a heavy toll on their lives. Due to the nature of their work, stars often indulge in both while on the road. Hulk Hogan, one of the biggest stars of pro wrestling, faced his fair share of alcohol-related issues. But what made him quit?

For hardcore wrestling fans, the stories of Andre ‘The Giant’ knocking back 119 beers in one sitting and Ric Flair drinking till 6 in the morning are infamous. Among these is Hogan, whose battle with alcohol made him lose out on much more than he was willing to give. 

Hulk Hogan blamed alcohol for the failure of both marriages

Hogan married twice, the first from 1983 to 2009 and the second from 2010 to 2021. He is currently engaged to Sky Daily, a yoga instructor. While speaking on the #455 episode of the Theo Von Show, he confessed his alcohol addiction affected both of his marriages in the past.

“Both of my two marriages, everything that’s ever bad happened to me has had to do with alcohol.” Now, on the cusp of a third marriage, Hogan wants to avoid repeating his past mistakes.

As he went on talking, he revealed that drinking put him on edge. Alcohol would change his demeanor into someone who would lose his temper quickly. “All of a sudden, I started losing something I didn’t want to lose again,” he recounted.  He also confessed that alcohol would make him aggressive, affecting his relationship. Since January 1, 2023, Hogan quit drinking, hoping to turn over a new leaf this year.

In multiple interviews, Hogan has stated that he could drink up to or more than 15 beers daily. This was at the height of his stardom. When asked why he could indulge in that much alcohol, his answer would be to avoid personal and professional problems.

Like most wrestlers on the road, the alcohol and prescription medication would numb the physical and mental pain the wrestlers suffered. 

Hogan quitting alcohol and third engagement

Taking to social media recently 2023, he announced his engagement to Sky Daily. She is a 45-year-old yoga instructor and accountant. During a dinner date in Florida, Hogan proposed to her with a six-carat diamond ring. The ring is estimated at a whopping $100,000.

The two met at a Bret Michaels concert in February 2022. Hogan even introduced Daily to the singer and soon exchanged phone numbers. They started dating after the meeting, and it’s been over a year. This will be the third Hogan will walk down the aisle.
