Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has returned to WWE and has been wreaking havoc since then. In case you missed it, he was able to make millions of fans angry as the hint of him taking Cody Rhodes’ WrestleMania XL spot went viral. Now that he has sided with Roman Reigns, he is hell-bent on making sure that the American Nightmare loses at the Show of the Shows. Johnson has had many appearances on WWE since the WWE Raw Day 1 episode and is confirmed to appear on both nights of WrestleMania XL. However, fans have been asking whether he will be staying after WrestleMania 40. It looks like that’s something that might not be possible.

Dwayne Johnson has big projects lined up

The Hollywood icon has some pretty big projects waiting for him. One project that is quite anticipated is the A24’s The Smashing Machine. The movie will be based on the life of the popular mixed martial artist Mark Kerr. The biography will follow the life of the former MMA star’s wins inside the ring and his struggles outside of it.

The movie is set for a 2025 release. Although the casting is still underway, fans could assume that this might be the first project he will head to right after WrestleMania XL. While the rest of the cast is not confirmed yet, Johnson’s Jungle Cruise co-star, Emily Blunt is said to be co-starring along with him.

Speaking of Jungle Cruise, a sequel to Disney’s 2021 Family/Adventure movie is heavily rumored. While the movie received mediocre reviews it was still able to perform decently at the box office. There are no updates on when the shoot will start as the fans have been receiving mixed news about the sequel.

But there are some positive updates on another beloved Disney franchise starring Johnson.

Maui will be returning soon

In confined news, Johnson will be reprising his role as Maui not once but twice this time around. Disney had caught their fans by surprise when they announced the sequel to the beloved animated movie, Moana. Moana 2 is set to hit theaters on 27th November 2024. While the schedule might clash with The Smashing Machine, it all depends on how big Maui’s role will be in the sequel. Originally intended to be an animated series for Disney+, the studio decided to turn it into a feature film.

Apart from that, the live-action Moana movie will be hitting the silver screens in June next year. Apart from that, he has returned to the Fast & Furious franchise. While the filming dates of the next sequel haven’t been announced yet fans could expect them anytime in 2025. Along with that, a sequel of the Hobbs and Shaw movie from 2019 is also rumored. From The Smashing Machine to Moana and many rumored projects, it is hard to say whether he will be able to continue working inside the WWE ring after WrestleMania XL. What do you think?
