Vince McMahon stands as the tallest person in the room when it comes to pro wrestling. The businessman invented his own bag of tricks as a pioneer in the industry to build a billion-dollar business. However, the power and fame acquired by McMahon also made him vulnerable. In fact, his very strength of being able to do whatever he wanted turned into a giant sinkhole.

Vince McMahon isn’t new to scrutiny from external forces. The Chairman of WWE has invited fresh trouble on himself after an ex-WWE employee made some troubling accusations.

Vince McMahon started his life in a trailer park and now stands on top of billions of dollars. McMahon took over an industry that was broken into several regions and towns and unified it under one name: WWE. However, McMahon was forced to step down from the executive board last year because of his involvement in several hush money cases.

He paid a total of $14.6 million to several women, including former WWE employees. Despite retiring from the sport in July 2022, he made a return a mere six months later as a more powerful member of the board.

The new powers acquired by McMahon allowed him greater autonomy since he owned a majority position on the board. He used this power to forge a deal with Endeavor in a bid to make two combat sports behemoths come under one umbrella. A former WWE employee offered his take and emphasized the problematic nature of the return.

Ignace Lahoud stated as covered by LA Times, “It wasn’t aligned with my way of seeing what governance is and there was a misalignment with what my values are.” The expose comes at a time when Vince McMahon has already facilitated WWE’s merger with the UFC. This has landed McMahon in a serious problem and may also cost him his TKO seat.

WWE could be ushering in a new beginning without Mr McMahon

Vince McMahon’s tussle with the law is a topic that wrestling fans are familiar with. His brief resignation in July 2022 paved the way for a new dawn to emerge under new management. However, that thought only lasted for a short while. He returned to the company against the Board’s wishes, which led to an upheaval among the board members. His own daughter’s exit from the company became the most noteworthy change during the aftermath.

Nevertheless, all eyes are pointed at the federal investigation that is ongoing for this issue. Federal authorities have served a federal grand jury subpoena on Mr McMahon. An attorney by the name of Jacob Frenkel explained the ramifications of the investigation if they were found to be damning.

“Depending on the potential findings, McMahon could face criminal and/or civil liabilities that could prevent him from serving as an officer or director of a public company, as well as a clawback of any “ill-gotten gains,” he said
