CM Punk is among the few WWE Superstars who crossed the 1000-day mark as the WWE Champion. However, he had a dramatic exit from the WWE, and its echoes are still visible. Punk had run into several problems with the WWE management. CM Punk has alleged that these problems weren’t just limited to creative differences and extended into medical negligence.

The former WWE Superstar vented his frustrations at a live event, resulting in the WWE promptly removing him from the company. The legendary wrestler then signed a contract with Tony Khan‘s AEW. However, in a recent interview on the podcast ’83 WEEKS’, an ex-RAW General Manager believes that CM Punk is an over-hyped and overrated wrestler. He also says that the kind of promotion Khan is doing for Punk is highly unprofessional and will result in a big loss in the future.

Bischoff, known for his past involvements and insights, has expressed concerns that this addition could lead to troubles for the company. In a recent interview with 83 WEEKS with John Alba, across wrestling circles, Eric Bischoff, a former manager for RAW, voiced his candid thoughts on the re-entry of CM Punk into AEW. Bischoff’s words were direct and unambiguous. He described CM Punk as “highly overrated” and labeled his demeanor unprofessional.

He said, “CM punk is a draw. I don’t like him. I think he’s unprofessional, I think he’s highly overrated, and I don’t think he’s worth nearly the amount of money or the compromises that Tony Khan is making along the way. And I think that wolf…… Tony will realize that at some point in time.”

Furthermore, he questioned the value of the compromises Tony Khan, AEW’s head honcho, was willing to make to bring CM Punk on board. He concluded by stating, “You’re not managing that that that challenge the way you need to manage it. Rather than putting CM Punk in a box and reminding him that he’s Talent, he’s not management, they gave him the keys to the kingdom.”

Bischoff’s interview highlighted AEW’s management’s failure to manage the potential result of handing over power to CM Punk, emphasizing the importance of maintaining a balance between talent and leadership in wrestling.

Eric Bischoff’s words shed light on a critical facet of AEW’s operations. He suggested that CM Punk might influence decisions, potentially affecting who appears on the show. Bischoff’s message was clear – the situation could worsen before a resolution.

He stated, “If it’s true, it’s….. it’s going to get worse before it gets better at some point. Tony is going to have to learn how to be a leader. He’s going to have to take it on the chair, just like I did with Ric Flair.” Drawing from his experience, he exhorted Tony Khan to assert his leadership. Bischoff emphasized the importance of leadership that embraces tough decisions and learns from history.
