22 years ago, ‘The People’s Champion’ sat down in an interview with Conan O’Brien on his Late Night Show, which aired on 09/05/2001. During the show, the two celebrities talked about Johnson’s monikers in the wrestling world. O’Brien asked the $800 million actor about who decides his nicknames.

Johnson replied, saying that sometimes the WWE writers pick the monikers for him, while other times he does it for himself. A few seconds later, the popular comedian accused Johnson of stealing ‘The Great One’ moniker from him. He said, You stole that one from me.”

Both laughed for a few moments before preceding to the next segment of the conversation. O’Brien said those words as a joke meant for entertainment purposes only. The same scenario happened in 2019 when Kevin Hart accused his best friend of stealing his nickname.
