WWE is close to announcing its annual tradition yet again. The same wrestling formula that has kept the gaming industry hooked for so many years is making its annual comeback. Although WWE 2K24 hasn’t been announced yet, a release seems imminent given the recent advancements in the gaming industry. If the game is set to be released, so is Dwayne Johnson‘s other bombastic appearance in it.

So far “The Rock” has impressed fans with his performance both in real life and in the video game. Needless to say, the wrestler’s stardom has gotten him an interesting set of ratings in all the games. But where could he stand this year?

Could Dwayne Johnson get an even higher rating this year?

After WWE 2K20, Take-Two Interactive had to work on their product due to the poor ratings they received. Since their return to the market in 2022, the game has been going strong. So, fans have a lot of hope for 2K24 as well. And even though the game hasn’t yet been announced, reports suggest that its release is imminent.

VGC recently revealed that in Brazil, 2K24 has already been rated as a video game. This hints at an imminent announcement soon. Considering the new trend that the publisher follows, we can expect the announcement at Royal Rumble and the initial release of the base game somewhere around WrestleMania 40.

Whenever the new game releases, it will most likely have The Brahma Bull as a playable character on the roster. Considering his return this year, he might have a bigger role than expected and an even higher rating. Since 2019, the WWE legend has had a rating of 93, which was changed to 96 in the latest 2K23.

Considering Johnson’s recent return to WWE, he could have an even higher rating than last year in the upcoming game.

With this news still imminent, however, another question lingers: will CM Punk be included in the game? Following his Survivor Series return this year, all that wrestling fans have been talking about is Phillip Brooks. But we have yet to see if his return can compel game devs to add Punk to their new upcoming game that will be released in 2024.

Could CM Punk make it in the WWE 2K24 roster?

After Punk left the promotion in 2014, Take-Two Interactive didn’t have any reasons to include him on the roster list for the game. But now that the former AEW star has made his much-awaited return, things can turn around for his possible appearance in the game.

Even though CM Punk had been out of the Stamford-based company for almost a decade, fans didn’t want to lose sight of him in-game. This caused the ‘Community Creations’ section of WWE 2K to be fairly active. As a result, there have been several models of CM Punk as a playable character in recent WWE games.

However, fans are now waiting for an official model provided by Take-Two Interactive. Even if The Best in the World isn’t included in the base game, he might be officially available in a DLC.
