The Rock has delivered some of the most fantastic performances in his acting career. Some popular movies under The Great One’s belt include Fast and Furious, Black Adam, San Andreas, and Jumanji. His production house, Seven Bucks Productions, had the premiere of their next film, Rampage last week. The team looked to target the nostalgic act of the 1980s arcade game with a captivating story with this reboot.

The premiere itself drew 5,000 people. Moreover, another of his rebooted film franchise, Jumanji also became one of the highest grosser at the box office. But that did not mean that each one of those old IPs would do well for him. DJ learned that the hard way with the failure of his popular film, Baywatch. The studio executives made the 1985 reboot on a budget of $69 million and earned only $58 million in the domestic market.
Dwayne Johnson recently spoke about the film’s failure last summer in an exclusive interview with TheWrap.
“We went into ‘Baywatch’ with the best of intentions, and there were some challenges with ‘Baywatch’ that we thought we could overcome in terms of the existing baggage, and ultimately, when we delivered it, it didn’t hit the mark,” Johnson said.
The Brahma Bull was bold enough to accept the failure, despite being one of the biggest assets to the movie industry.
How did a film failure benefit The Rock’s Hollywood career moving forward?
Despite an unsuccessful film in Baywatch, The Rock did not take a setback. Instead, the recently returned Fast film actor claimed that he learned some salutary lessons from it, and that helped him progress further in his life and film career.

“We had all the right elements to make something so special. There were a lot of good learning lessons, and you hope not to learn these critical lessons as you’re swimming and as you’re releasing the film — you hope to learn them earlier, but you learn and you grow nonetheless, and it was a fine a– kicking,” he added.
Dwayne further added that if given a chance, he would like to do Baywatch once again with an approach learned from its failure.
“I would take another crack at ‘Baywatch’ if we could do it again.”
