Dwayne Johnson’s Daughter Might Have Been Inspired by Her Father’s Iconic Nation of Domination Segment, After Calling for Schism Family Meeting on NXT to Address Ongoing Tensions

After spending years in the WWE’s developmental territory, Ava finally made her in-ring debut on NXT earlier this year. Raine aligned herself with NXT’s cult-like stable, Schism. And today, Ava’s voice holds weight in the heel faction, much like how her father, Dwayne Johnson, did in the Nation of Domination.

Dwayne Johnson changed the trajectory of his career in 1998 after joining hands with the Farooq-led stable, Nation of Domination. However, as time passed, infighting between The Rock and Farooq caused cracks within the group. One of the most memorable segments was when The Rock gave his team members gifts to clear the air on Raw. Interestingly, Ava Raine plans to do something similar next week. 

Ava Raine summons Schism for a meeting next week on NXT

Although Joe Gacy holds the most authority within Schism, Ava Raine has called for a meeting to address the ongoing tensions within the stable. 

Going to Twitter, Raine relayed that the members of Schism need to converge to set aside their differences with one another. She wrote, “We are a family brought together not by blood but by the roots of a tree. the uncertainty in our paths is apparent & the tension is too much to ignore… as a family, it’s time to talk. i’m calling a schism family meeting next week. see you all there.”

The upcoming segment could somewhat bear a resemblance to The Rock’s angle with The Nation of Domination. At the time, The Rock had fallen from the good graces of Farooq. And so, The Great One invited all members of the stable to the ring and handed out gifts. While Mark Henry, D-Lo Brown, and Godfather got gold Rolex watches, Farooq was presented with a framed picture of the then-Intercontinental Champion, The Rock. 

An annoyed Farooq later tried to bash the portrait on his opponent, Steve Blackman. However, Dwayne Johnson snatched the portrait out of Farooq’s hands, allowing Steve Blackman to take advantage of the distraction and beat Farooq for the win. 

Ultimately, Farooq was abdicated as the leader of the faction. The faction was then rechristened “The Nation”, under Dwayne Johnson’s leadership.

We will have to wait and see how things play out on the second night of the NXT Gold Rush episode. Ava Raine recently scored her first career win in a tag team match.

Ava Raine is yet to debut in a singles match

After unmasking her identity as the fourth member of Schism, Ava Raine became the most adored member of the group. As The Rock’s daughter, she has major shoes to fill. Moreover, her work would constantly be compared with her father’s. Raine’s addition to Schism was unmistakably a great start to her career. 

In an edition of NXT earlier this month, Ava Raine teamed up with The Dyad against The Creed Brothers and Ivy Nile. During the closing moments of the match, Ava donned her mask and delivered a headbutt to Nile while the referee was distracted. Furthermore, Raine pinned Nile to pick up the first win of her career. 

It should be noted that Ava Raine hasn’t been booked in singles action yet. It remains to be seen how Raine would fare in a one-on-one match.
