WWE fans witnessed plenty of drama in the last few days. On SmackDown 02/02, Dwayne Johnson returned to the promotion after Cody Rhodes stepped down from his WrestleMania 40 challenge against Roman Reigns. Since this decision was finalized by the TKO board of members, including “The Rock”, the majority of the fanbase that wanted to see Rhodes ‘complete his story’ were upset.
After several callouts, Johnson finally addressed the matter when he was in Las Vegas for the WrestleMania 40 KickOff event on 8th January, a few days ago. He sounded confident that he would be sticking to his feud against Reigns. This was until Triple H showed up in the scenario.

At this point, the feud between the two distant Samoan cousins became a big deal among wrestling fans. Everyone was retaliating against the storyline since they all wanted to see Cody Rhodes complete his story at WrestleMania 40. When Johnson tried to have things his way, Triple H threatened him.
Since Paul Levesque didn’t hold himself back from calling out The Rock, fans started wondering about whether he has the authority over him in real life or not.
As Hunter made the argument during the 02/09 episode of SmackDown, he is the CCO of WWE and he is the one who gets to make the creative decisions in the company. So, this was a subtle dig at Johnson trying to book himself as the main event of WrestleMania 40.
Dwayne Johnson is the overseer of Nick Khan and Triple H’s work in WWE. So, he appears to be the superior of the two. However, as the overseer, Johnson may only observe and advise changes to the CCO, rather than make full decisions. This is why Levesque is confident in his words.

Although ‘The Game’ has been medically retired from professional wrestling for a long time now, the recent turn of events suggests that he may face DJ, eventually. If Triple H is medically cleared for wrestling, we may see this happen. After Johnson had declared himself for the main event at Mania this year, Triple H walked into SmackDown to call him out.
This suggests that there could be some tension buildup between the two WWE legends. Even though this is a far-fetched idea for now, fans might root for this feud.
