Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson is often perceived as one of the nicest people going around. There are numerous stories of his good deeds and willingness to help people. Unfortunately, with a height of 6’5 and the body of a Greek God, it can be scary to approach him at times, as staff at a gym recently found out.

The Rock is known to love getting in a good workout. This is his secret to maintaining his insane physic even at 51. But what happens when he doesn’t follow the required protocols at a hotel? Does the staff approach him?

The Rock unintentionally scared staff at the Equinox gym.

The Rock can be an intimidating guy. With a massive figure and an entourage following him, it could be scary to think of approaching him. This is exactly what the staff at the Equinox gym in Florida felt when he rushed in for a workout. 

The Rock arrived at the Equinox gym in Aventura, Florida, with an entourage of two people escorting him. He was so rushed that he forgot to check in and headed for the weights. The front desk noticed this and, while talking to Page Six, an insider said that “The front desk team was noticeably shaken by the visitors, and had to address them.” 

Unfortunately, the staff at the gym were intimidated by The Rock, and many didn’t even recognize him. One even said, “But he’s so big,” when they were asked to approach the WWE star and actor. Finally, one staff member amassed the courage to ask The Rock to check in kindly. This is when he realized the mistake he made.

In typical Rock fashion, he was apologetic. He apologized profusely to all staff members and followed the check-in protocol. The reason behind this blunder? He said he was just off a long flight and wanted to get a good workout in. The Rock then took pictures with the staff members and continued his training.

From Rocky Maivia to the Most Electrifying Man in Sports Entertainment

If you have been following the WWE since the 90s, you’d know that The Rock was never intimidating when he joined in 1996. When he debuted, he came out as Rocky Maivia in a costume that was a nod to his Samoan culture. Pushed as a babyface with a big smile, the fans did not want him. Soon the chats of Die, Rocky, Die!plagued every match of his. This would be when many wrestlers would call quits on their career, but not The Rock. 

Consequently, he took this opportunity, and with permission from the creative heads, he turned heel. He began insulting the crowds with a new persona and cut some of the best promos in the WWE. He allied with the Nation of Domination and referred to himself in the third person. Hence, The Rock was born.

He would go on to have some of the best matches in the WWE with the likes of Stone Cold Steve Austin and Hollywood Hulk Hogan at the height of his career. To this day, when his music hits, every stadium and arena goes wild. This earned him the nickname of the most Electrifying Man in Sports Entertainment.
