If there is a human version of hard work and determination, it has to be Dwayne Johnson. The former world champion didn’t just rule the wrestling industry but also earned a considerable name in Hollywood. Just like every other star, Johnson also had some ups and downs in his career. However, one thing that separates him from others is his transparency.

Yes, the wrestler-turned-actor never hesitates to share the mistakes he made throughout his career. And the same happened a decade ago when Johnson revealed how he rejected a movie for another Hollywood project that made three times less than the one he turned down.

Dwayne Johnson once turned down the offer of a $5.02 billion movie franchise

Back in 2013, the Transformers movie franchise decided to drop its fourth installment, Transformers: Age of Extinction. According to rumors a decade ago, Johnson was supposed to be a part of the movie.

And when a fan asked him to confirm if the rumor is true or not, the WWE star replied by tweeting that he was the first choice of the director Michael Bay for the role of Cade Yeager. However, because of his commitment to the film Hercules, he had to turn that offer down and the role eventually went to Mark Wahlberg.

But this decision didn’t turn out to be good for Johnson as the project he rejected made three times more than the one he rejected for. Moreover, for Hercules, Dwayne Johnson worked a lot harder in many ways.

Johnson went through a lot for Hercules

The prep for Hercules’ role was not easy at all. Dwayne Johnson had to lean out and at the same time he was supposed to put on the size. Even the producers had to suffer financially since the shoot was pushed back because of Johnson’s injury. It added millions to the movie budget.
