Few WWE Superstars have reputations that precede them. Dwyane ‘The Rock’ Johnson is one of them. The Rock has single-handedly brought a lot of business and attention to the WWE. This electrifying man was a conduit between WWE and the world outside of pro wrestling. After his stint at WWE, he formed his own separate identity apart from his wrestling career.

Hailing from a family of great Samoan wrestlers, The Rock stands tall as one of the greatest stars produced by the WWE. However, things weren’t always like this. There was a time when he was famous enough to be recognized by the WWE but not enough to become the global sensation he is today. A video from those times is now making rounds on the internet now and has the fans grinning from ear to ear. In the video, the actor shared what music he listens to to get his adrenaline going.

The resurfaced video on YouTube was uploaded 10 years ago. However, the video dates back to 2000. The video shows him giving a TV interview. In it, Johnson revealed some of the go-to music artists he listened to each time he needed an adrenaline pump.

He stated- “The Rock says he’s going to listen to some Jay-z some DMX, some dub see, and of course, no doubt Dr. Dre and Miss Sunday”. The Rock mentioned that he would also listen to these songs before appearing for the upcoming Royal Rumble in the video. This is important because he won the Rumble that year. While the WWE Superstar already carried SmackDown on his shoulders, he also won the Royal Rumble.

Dwayne Johnson is a third-generation WWE Superstar who gave very tough competition to the greats of the attitude era at RAW. He shouldered WWE’s latest project, SmackDown, on his star power alone. The Brahma Bull entertained everyone with catchphrases that stuck in people’s minds and had a great recall value. These catchphrases were short, like “boots to asses,” and long, like “can you smell? What The Rock. Is. Cooking?”

Entering the pro wrestling industry back in 1996, The Rock became an instant hit with the people. His father, Rocky Johnson, was also an established pro wrestler. Using his charm and inescapable magnetism, The Rock didn’t just propel himself to stardom as an individual but also brought a great deal of fame to the WWE.
