Dwayne Johnson celebrated Rocky Johnson‘s birthday on August 24 with a special message to his late father. He wished his father a “Happy Heavenly Birthday” with a birthday post on social media while sharing some of his teachings.

People filled the comment section with questions asking what is the biggest lesson his dad taught him. To answer this question, ‘The Brahman Bull’ shared another video post on Instagram, which also saw him exposing the dark secrets of pro wrestling. He pointed out an example of the discrimination his faced father during his pro-wrestling career.

Johnson began by stating that he had a loving and complicated relationship with his old man. He then addressed that during late father had to go through many adversities during the time he was an active wrestler. “Dads of that era who had to go through so much sh*t to overcome,” were the words he used to clarify his point.

Rocky ‘Soulman’ Johnson was the first black WWE tag team champion alongside Tony Atlas in 1983. Being a champion with skin of color, he inspired many young black and brown kids, including his own son, but also had to tolerate prejudice because of it.

‘The Rock’ has always been vocal about his dad getting unfair treatment industry because of his race. But that was not it. Johnson’s father not only had to deal with trouble in the wrestling industry but also in other spheres of his life.

Johnson’s parents used to clean people’s houses

Years before becoming the highest-paid actor, Johnson was broke and so was his family. Unlike now, he and his family had no luxuries, and they struggled to make ends meet. The Hollywood megastar, at many times, has opened up about his troubled childhood and his parent’s struggles.

As many of you know, Johnson was evicted from Hawaii with his parents and forced to relocate to Tennessee. ‘The Great One’ was a rebellious kid and often found himself in difficult situations. As a teenager, he would often get involved in dangerous activities like fighting and petty theft.

Because of that, the entire pressure to raise the family was on his dad alone. He didn’t chime in to help his father financially until later in his life. The epiphany hit Johnson when his father opened a cleaning company to make money.
