WrestleMania 39 was one of the biggest moments of Cody Rhodes’ entire career. The man had struggled under the Stardust persona in WWE and then worked his way up in the indies. Then, he helped AEW grow in its early stage and made his big return to WWE last year. Since then, everyone thought the next step would be his climb to winning the big one. But he fell just short.
In the main event, Rhodes, multiple times, had Roman Reigns in his clutch and was ready to win the match, but The Bloodline interrupted more than one time. The Usos came out to hit Rhodes with their superkick combination and helped their Tribal Chief to win the match. Despite this interruption and disappointment of defeat, Rhodes’ brother praised The Usos.

When Inside the Ropes asked their audience about Mount Rushmore, or the biggest four, of tag team wrestling, Dustin Rhodes answered with four teams. His choices were AEW’s FTR, Lucha Brothers, The Young Bucks, and WWE’s The Usos. As a disclaimer, Dustin Rhodes aka Goldust wrote clearly on the top of his list that this is the modern day Mount Rushmore of tag team wrestling.

For the most part, many of the comments agreed with his take, but one thing stands out is his decision to pick the former WWE Undisputed Tag Team Champions, despite them being a thorn in his brother’s side. Seeing his brother lose the biggest match of his career at ‘Mania must have been heartbreaking for the proud brother.
But even if they are alignedwith Reigns currently, there aren’t many people who can deny their achievements in WWE. But do they really deserve to be called one of the four greatest teams in the modern era?
Why did Dustin Rhodes pick The Usos despite being in AEW?
First of all, the brothers had been holding the SmackDown tag titles for 623 days and the Raw tag titles for 317 days, breaking countless records and staying dominant in the tag team division for a long time.

Also, The Usos were putting on amazing matches that got the audience pumped up to see them in the ring. Apart from that, they were also involved in the most talked about storyline of the year, and as a result, were the first tag team to main event WrestleMania despite their loss.
