WWE has been through a number of ‘eras’ since its foundation. Out of everyone, fans seem to have a special love for the ‘Attitude Era’. The time period on WWE television, roughly between 1997 and 2002, is missed by fans and also by some legends. Kurt Angle, who served as an important name during the era, was recently found reminiscing about the same.

During a recent episode of the Grue Rume Show, fans can see Angle talk about the Attitude Era of WWE. Not only do his words suggest that he misses the golden era, but he also compared it to the present active roster of WWE. The legend’s words also seem critical of the talents currently present in the promotion.

When you grow up accustomed to one thing, it is often hard to readjust your perspective to suit the new order of things. This truth of reality applies to the wrestling world as well. As Angle was previously accustomed to and loved working during the Attitude Era, he does not consider the present to be the best era of wrestling.

The Olympic gold medalist said on the show, “I wouldn’t say they have the talent that we had back in the Attitude Era. Back then, everybody was a superstar… Now, you know there are like five or six top guys in the company that everybody knows, and everyone else is really you know not really as recognized.” However, despite being critical of the current generation of pro wrestlers, Angle doesn’t hate their work at all.

In fact, he added to his statement: “Don’t get me wrong, the guys today, they are actually much more athletic and do a lot more crazy stuff, a lot more flips and acrobatic stunts.” Along with the stunts, Angle also wishes the talents to hone their wrestling skills to bring back the Attitude Era charm.

Even though he was a grand name during the Attitude Era of WWE, John Cena still holds a different view of the current roster of the promotion. The Prototype’s opinion on today’s talents is staunchly contrasting to that of Angle’s.
