With constant boos and tons of hatred from the crowd, Dominik Mysterio has undoubtedly etched his name on the list of the greatest heels in WWE. His mere presence is enough to make the audience in the arena livid with rage.

Mysterio is very vocal about his resentment for his deadbeat father, Rey Mysterio. He doesn’t leave any stone unturned to humiliate his father in front of others. But for a change, he recently broke his character to share a lovely memory with his father, making the blurred line between kayfabe and reality a little clearer.

Dominik Mysterio shares a throwback picture with Rey Mysterio

The fans always see Dom maintain his on-screen heel persona, cursing his father whenever he gets the chance. But for the first time in a long while, he surprised the WWE Universe and showed them his real side, the side that loves Rey.

Logging on to his official Instagram account, he reposted a photo of himself, his father, and two WWE fans on his IG story. From the IG story, it looks like the picture was taken in September 2021. Around that time, The Young Mysterio was still a babyface and was his father’s tag team partner.

This is something the fans rarely see as Dom is pretty serious about his on-screen persona and always gives 100% to maintain the kayfabe.

This year, The Master of 619 was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame, which is considered one of the most prestigious awards in the Stamford-based promotion. Everyone would have understood Dom breaking his character to be present alongside his father, while Rey would be bestowed with great honor.

However, even on such a special day, Dom chose to maintain kayfabe, which goes to show how much dedication he has for his work. Just as Rey was getting ready to speak, ‘Dirty Dom’, along with Rhea Ripley and Damian Priest, stood up and left the arena.

Walking out of the arena, he threatened to beat his father in his one-on-one match at WrestleMania 39, which took place a day after the Hall of Fame induction ceremony. Which was something that never came to fruition as Rey managed to cinch the win from under Dom Dom. However, this just fuels the younger Mysterio’s need to one-up his dad.
