John Cena returned to WWE this week on SmackDown and his arrival was well-received by fans. While his return thrilled many, some were not too happy about it. But Dominik Mysterio was completely unbothered by his Friday Night arrival in the Stamford-based promotion.

Going to his social media account, the reigning North American Champion threw a disrespectful comment Cena’s way before giving him a piece of his mind mere hours before The Champ’s promising arrival on SmackDown.

This is how Dominik Mysterio reacted to John Cena’s return

The WWE community has been buzzing with the news of Cena’s arrival all week. In response, Mysterio took to X (formerly Twitter) to make it very clear that he doesn’t give two hoots about ‘The Champ’ coming back to his old home.

He took a shot at Cena by sharing a GIF with an inbuilt caption, “Who gives a sh*t”. Mysterio is currently enjoying the time of his life as a classic heel in the promotion. His heel antics have been paying off very well, as he has been garnering a lot of heat and attention from the fans. Something that he seems to revel in.

Mysterio is doing justice to his heel character

So far, Mysterio has displayed an excellent talent with his negative persona on WWE TV. The 26-year-old third-generation superstar turned heel last September after betraying his father, Rey Mysterio. Ever since, he has been at war with his father.

The heel is often known to downgrade other superstars by taking digs at them, but his main target has always been his arch-nemesis, i.e. his father. Ever since Dominik turned heel last year, the younger Mysterio has had no qualms about making it personal with his dad. Angry at his father for neglecting him during his childhood, he calls Rey Mysterio a “deadbeat dad” and often humiliates him in front of his fans.

It wouldn’t be wrong to say that he has been thriving as a negative character on WWE and has attained tremendous success in the past year. Apart from his dad, the young wrestler is known to take no prisoners when it comes to trash-talking his opponents. This is especially evidenced by his response to Cena’s return. There is no doubt that he will attain more success in WWE, as his future looks very promising.
