On 21st September, WWE announced the firing of 18 superstars, which included 9 superstars who were a part of the main roster. The biggest name on the list is that of Dolph Ziggler who is a two-time World Champion, six-time IC Champion, two-time US Champion, and former tag team champion. In fact, he is a Grand Slam champion, a feat that even John Cena has not achieved.
The showoff Ziggler is not a one-trick pony who is just about wrestling. There are expectations that he might continue his wrestling journey through AEW or anywhere else, but it’s not the only option he has.

When WWE announced the abrupt firing of many superstars, Dolph Ziggler’s name was probably the most shocking one. But Ziggler had nothing going his way at WWE, even after 19 years of service to them. The last of his notable appearances on TV was in a feud against LA Knight, in a phase when he won the NXT Championship as well.
Other than his wrestling skills, he is pretty good with stand-up comedy. During an interview in 2018 with Chuck Carroll, he described his skills by saying, “I’m a quick smart-mouth kind of guy, so my whole life I’ve been ready with a quick jab back.”
Ziggler has also shown credible performance to showcase his skills. He has performed stand-up with his long-term friend Sarah Tiana for Comedy Central Roast Battle. He has been doing it for over a decade and WWE is aware of his stand-up skills. They even used it in other TV programs like Total Divas in 2015.
Ziggler, however, is aware of cyberbullies and how he deals with negativity. During the interview with Chuck Caroll, he said, “You try to do that and also have fun, because there’s so much negativity out there, and I don’t want to be part of it.” So, is stand-up a good career option for Ziggler other than pro wrestling?
Dolph Ziggler is rumored to go to AEW
The 43-year-old has mostly been used as a talent enhancer recently by WWE. As a result, he had previously requested for his release but it was denied by WWE. However, with his release confirmed now, he has more career options to explore.

There are rumors that he will follow suit like Jon Moxley and Bryan Danielson and go to AEW, as suggested by the tweet from his brother Ryan Nemeth. However, there is a 90-day non-compete period he has to serve before he is available for bookings.
