Andrew McLean Galloway IV, a Scottish professional wrestler, is presently signed with WWE. He competes on the Raw brand under the ring name Drew McIntyre. He began his career in 2001 in the United Kingdom and has won the WWE and World Heavyweight Championships. McIntyre is also known for his stint with Impact Wrestling, previously known as Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA). McIntyre has also worked with several independent wrestling promotions, including Insane Championship Wrestling, Evolve, Pro Wrestling Guerrilla, and What Culture Pro Wrestling (WCPW).

McIntyre was born in Ayr on June 6, 1985. He grew up in nearby Prestwick, where he attended Prestwick Academy. He considered becoming a professional soccer player when he was younger, playing for the youth team Prestwick Boys, mostly in defensive positions.

As a child, he was a fan of professional wrestling and began training at the age of 15, with his parents agreeing to support him as long as he focused equally on his education. He consented and eventually earned a master’s degree in criminology from Glasgow Caledonian University.

McIntyre was engaged to American professional wrestler Taryn Terrell in July 2009 while both were performing for WWE, and the two wed in Las Vegas in May 2010. They got divorced in May 2011.

<h2>Drew McIntyre Career Timeline</h2>
McIntyre began his wrestling career in 2001 in the United Kingdom. He got a developmental deal with WWE in 2007 and was assigned to Ohio Valley Wrestling and Florida Championship Wrestling. In 2009, he worked on SmackDown as The Chosen One, winning both the WWE Intercontinental Championship and the WWE Tag Team Championship. During the following years,

McIntyre went on to win the WWE Intercontinental Championship over John Morrison at the Tables, Ladders, and Chairs event but lost it to Kofi Kingston at the 2010 Over the Limit. He also won the WWE Tag Team Championship alongside Cody Rhodes at the 2010 Night of Champions. Later in the year, the two would lose the Bragging Rights competition. McIntyre would continue to participate in matches for various titles but always found himself falling short of the finish line. 

2012 saw McIntyre form the trio 3MB, with Jinder Mahal and Heath Slater. The trio would attempt to wreak havoc but always fell short. Slater and McIntyre would then lose the WWE Tag Team Championship match as they challenged Team Hell No (Daniel Bryan and Kane). He assumed a role as a low-card wrestler for the faction. He was released from his contract in 2014.

In 2014, McIntyre was released from the WWE. 

He would go on to join the Insane Championship Wrestling in June 2014. At Fear &amp; Loathing VII, later in the year, he would become the ICW Heavyweight Champion. In his first foreign ICW title defense, McIntyre competed in a double championship triple threat match against Dansk Pro Wrestling Champion Michael Fynne and Chaos, where he both retained the ICW title and won the DPW Heavyweight Championship.

He joined TNA in 2015 and won the TNA World Heavyweight Championship as well as the Impact Grand Championship. He wrestled under the ring name Drew Galloway and kept at it until he received the golden call from WWE again.

After returning to WWE two years later, McIntyre won the NXT Championship and was promoted to the main roster. He won the 2020 Royal Rumble, which earned him a WWE Championship battle against Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 36. He went on to defeat Brock Lesnar, winning the WWE Championship for the first time in his career. He defended the title in several matches until losing it to Randy Orton in Hell in a Cell. He would become a two-time WWE Champion on the November 16 edition of Raw, defeating Orton to restore his championship status.

McIntyre defended his championship against superstars, including A.J. Styles and The Miz, who cashed in on his Money in the Bank contract at TLC PPV. Furthermore, at the Royal Rumble PPV, the Scottish Warrior defeated Keith Lee and defended his title against WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg.

However, McIntyre lost his championship when Miz cashed in his Money In the Bank contract (which he was able to reclaim due to a contractual loophole) at the 2021 Elimination Chamber. Prior to Miz cashing in his Money in the Bank, Bobby Lashley assaulted McIntyre, after which The Miz used the Skull-Crushing Finale to pin McIntyre and win the WWE Championship, therefore ending McIntyre’s second reign as Champion.

The Scottish wrestler would contest for the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion and the Intercontinental Champion, but they failed to achieve both belts. He would also challenge Seth Rollins for the World Heavyweight Champion and failed in his initial attempt. After earning a chance to compete against Rollins in WrestleMania 40, he would win by pinfall. After his victory, a brawl would break out between him and CM Punk as McIntyre mocked the former UFC fighter. Punk would go on to thrash McIntyre, which was followed by Damian Priest cashing in his Money in the Bank, to then pin the Champion and win in 9 seconds.
