‘DJ, This Is Your Mom?’: $450M Hollywood Megastar Called Dwayne Johnson’s ‘21 Y/O’ Mother a Model on First Meeting

Dwayne Johnson has made a lot of notable friends in Hollywood. One of his more popular friendships is the one he has with Kevin Hart. A year after their first movie together, Johnson decided to introduce his mother to his new best friend. Even though the introduction did not go as the former wrestler had planned, he was grateful for the way Hart reacted.

The Rock recalled this particular incident in a recent episode of ‘Hart To Heart’. The latest episode from season three saw the two friends touching upon a variety of topics. However, a lot of people paid special attention to DJ’s recollection of a memory that he holds close to his heart.

How Kevin Hart met Dwayne Johnson’s mother

The duo first co-starred in the 2016 movie Central Intelligence. Following the movie’s success, they starred in another one that was released in 2017 – Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle. While on the set of this movie, ‘The Brahma Bull’ invited his mother Ata Johnson to the set. Johnson wanted her to meet Kevin Hart because he knew she was fond of the comedian.

After introducing her to everyone else, the WWE legend finally decided to introduce her to Hart. But considering what a lively character Hart is on and off set, things didn’t go the way Johnson had planned.

Instead, after DJ pointed out his mother to his friend, the actor screamed from afar, “Aye, aye, aye! Aye! When do they let models on set?” Seeing Ata looking around in disbelief, Hart reassured her by continuing, “You a model! Yeah! You didn’t tell me your mom was 21! DJ this your mom? Aye!”

After recalling the moment, ‘The Brahma Bull’ admitted that the incident made his mother feel “incredible“.

‘Mama Johnson’ had such a good time at her son’s movie set that she did not stop the tradition of coming to meet him at his workplace. In fact, during the shoot of a 2019 film, Ata even cried ‘tears of pride’.

Dwayne Johnson made his mother cry on a movie set

Johnson was shooting for the movie Hobbs and Shaw when Ata Johnson arrived on set. Drawing on his roots, Dwayne Johnson’s character in the movie was also made ‘Samoan’. The 2019 movie explored his Hawaiian roots and even saw the wrestler speaking Samoan and embracing the culture a bit more than he does usually. This became an emotional moment for The Rock’s mother.

Ata was proud of her son for portraying their culture on such a big stage in front of the whole world. It was a special moment for her both as a mother and as a Samoan who is proud of her culture.

During both visits, Ata Johnson left with a memory to cherish. The Rock’s relationship with his mother is sure to put a smile on fans’ faces. As people who follow him on social media know, family is very important to the WWE icon.
