WWE has a packed schedule for November this year with two premium live events, Crown Jewel and Survivor Series on the calendar. So, the promotion appears to be building up storylines for both events simultaneously. In light of this hassle, fans were expecting and speculating a match between Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins to happen at WWE Survivor Series in a ‘Champion vs Champion’ showdown since the former is already booked for Crown Jewel. However, things may not turn out this way.

Disappointing speculation from an industry insider has presented an alternate possibility. According to Dave Meltzer, WWE could ditch the idea of a match between the two world champions.

For now, The Tribal Chief is slated to defend his title at Crown Jewel against LA Knight. However, fans started speculating a ‘champion vs champion’ match for the Survivor Series this year. One of the reasons is the fact that it has been a tradition in WWE to have such a match. However, Meltzer thinks otherwise,

On the Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer along with Bryan Alvarez shed some light on a possible match between the former ‘Shield’ members.

Bryan started off by saying, “It seemed like they were maybe building up to a Roman Reigns Seth Rollins match down the road.” To this, Meltzer replied, “I didn’t sense that.” When Bryan countered by saying that a ‘champion vs champion’ has been happening for years, Meltzer said, “They’re not going to do that. I can tell you for sure. That’s not on this year’s Survivor Series.

Since the industry insider sounds so sure about his prediction, it may break some fans’ hearts. However, there may be hope left for those who want to see this match take place.

Are there still hopes for Roman Reigns vs Seth Rollins?

To start off this speculation, we must predict what turn this year’s Survivor Series is going to take. So far, there have been no announcements about whether WWE is going to go with the ‘Wargames’ situation or the ‘brand wars’. However, the rising tensions between SmackDown and Raw is a subtle hint toward the brand war returning this year.

Though the industry insiders gave out totally opposite news, we would suggest you not get disappointed until something from WWE is official. This is because the promotion might be planning to bring the old friends back into the ring against each other at Survivor Series.
