The Scottish Warrior made a stunning comeback at WWE Money in the Bank 2023. However, it took place after a protracted hiatus since WrestleMania 39, where McIntyre laid it all on the line in a thrilling Triple Threat Match for the WWE Intercontinental Championship against Gunther and Sheamus. But after that memorable confrontation, he suddenly disappeared from WWE television, perplexing everyone.

There were rumors of an injury following his memorable WrestleMania match. The Ringer Wrestling Show” podcast’s July 28, 2023 edition included an exclusive interview with Drew McIntyre, who bared all in response to the highly awaited inquiries from the fans. 

In the interview, he stated, “It was a unique situation where what was going on, I had to get a couple of things fixed, but it didn’t require physical therapy like a lot of things I’ve had to deal with in the past.” 

Drew McIntyre’s WWE absence was not your average injury break – no need for physical therapy here! He wasn’t simply lying around! 

He also added, “So I was able to enjoy my time and spend time with the family and the cats and get some projects taken care of outside of the ring.”

The WWE Universe was holding its breath during Drew McIntyre’s absence since he has been one of the biggest stars in the company in recent years. McIntyre’s theme song marked his triumphal return at Money In The Bank 2023, which filled the arena.

He squared off against GUNTHER and knocked him over with a Claymore Kick, emphatically issuing a challenge to the Intercontinental Champion.

McIntyre now gears up to face GUNTHER for the title at SummerSlam, in what is likely to be a hard-hitting contest.
