Hulk Hogan is a personification of everything that fans desired to see in a wrestler back in the 80s era. After gaining worldwide recognition, Hogan decided to make a shift in his career by jumping ship to WCW from WWF in 1994. The new promotion offered him more money and a lighter schedule, which he craved at that time.
WWE Hall of Famer Eric Bischoff shares a cemented bond with Hulk Hogan for decades now. It all started during their tenure at WCW. As a close witness of Hogan’s era in the promotion, Bischoff has many insights to share.
Hulk Hogan’s WCW run was beneficial for a unique reason

There are many reports explaining Hogan was a beneficial card for WCW in terms of ticket sales. Bischoff recently pointed out a totally different angle of having Hogan on the WCW board during the latest episode of the 83 Weeks podcast.
The Hall of Famer believes Hogan benefited the company in more than one way. Describing the most underrated one, he noted, “When you talked about bringing Hulk Hogan on board with WCW, yes, there was a conversation I’m sure about, they’ll have to sell merch, and he’ll help us sell tickets, and he’ll help us sell pay per views. And all of that was written about in the Observer, but the intangible that didn’t get much discussion in the industry newsletters at that time is what you shared on this program that bringing Hulk Hogan added some legitimacy to Madison Avenue,”
So, when you’re going out and you’re pitching national advertising, national marketing, national brands, national licensing, instead of trying to explain what WWE was, you could explain that you had Hulk Hogan…..’ The 67-year-old continued.

The popularity and fame Hogan brought to the table are no doubt peerless, but Bischoff believes there is someone else who could replace him at least in terms of in-ring character.
Eric Bischoff named a potential replacement for Hulk Hogan in WCW
Hulk Hogan made the biggest heel turn in the form of the ‘third mystery partner’ of NWO. His command over the character was so massive that it’s hard to even imagine someone else in his place, something that Bischoff did.
The veteran wrestler believes Bret Hart could fit in Hogan’s place in case the latter wouldn’t join the promotion. While Bischoff wasn’t very sure of Hart’s potential, he had high hopes. The Hall of Famer also thinks Hart had a significant depth that would have been beneficial for him to step out from his usual character and take up a challenge as big as replacing Hogan.

However, Hulk Hogan is still irreplaceable in WCW even after years of his walkout from the company and the wrestling world as well.
