WWE recently livestreamed ‘The Bump’ on YouTube where, during a section, Randy Orton was featured. “The Viper” had a heart-to-heart conversation with the interviewer who asked him several personal questions that wrestling fans must have been wondering all along. While he did answer the questions that he was asked on the official stream, Orton also subtly hinted at how things have changed in WWE ever since the major power shift.
Randy Orton likes WWE’s ‘leave’ policy now more than ever
After Orton was put out of commission by ‘The Bloodline’ in 2022, the wrestler had to recover for 18 months straight before being able to come back to the ring. All this while, he was making the most out of his time, bonding with his family. Moreover, he likes the transition that has taken place in the promotion now under Triple H‘s leadership.

While talking, Orton praised the current policy of the Stamford-based company by saying, “I mean, the company really is doing a great job making sure people get home for the important days. If there’s a birth, guy or girl, you’re getting that time off.” He then drew a contrast by mentioning how unfair the same system was when Vince McMahon was around. “I came from an era where I barely made it home to catch the birth and then I was gone the next day, didn’t even bring my wife home from the hospital and that’s just how it was, you know,” revealed the former WWE Champion.
Before Triple H had taken over the promotion, Vince McMahon wasn’t as flexible when it came to taking leaves. The wrestlers weren’t often allowed to take an ‘off’ when they wanted to unless they were met with a medical emergency. According to the 43-year-old, things have drastically changed now.
As reported earlier, this confession arrived after Orton was asked about how he spent his 18 months of recovery. While it could have been distressing for some, the top WWE talent made sure to see the situation optimistically.
Randy Orton loved spending his recovery time at home
To answer the original question asked by the interviewer, Orton revealed that he is a ‘homebody’ and loves being at home. Moreover, during his old time in WWE, when Vince McMahon was in charge, he didn’t usually get the chance to bond with his family. So, when the wrestler was forced to sit at home due to the injury in 2022, he liked it.

“My time at home, to answer your question, I spent it with my kids, with my wife, bonding with my younger kids especially. And it’s, you know, you look at it, glass half full, I’m glad it happened. I feel great,” confessed the WWE legend in the interview.
Despite the uncertain nature of his injury and whether he would be able to rejoin wrestling or not, Orton still made the most out of his recovery period.
