Through the years, WWE has had some of the biggest sponsorships. 5-Hour Energy, Castrol GTX, Chef Boyardee, and 7-11, to name a few. Now ahead of the second biggest Premium Live Event on the WWE cards, SummerSlam 2023, WWE signed a historical sponsorship deal. But the question is with whom?

Despite Vince McMahon‘s dwindling health and legal issues which resurfaced, WWE seems booming on the business end. By rekindling a partnership that lay dormant for two decades, WWE just made the history books once more.

In the 1990s, the WWE and Slim Jims had a great partnership. The WWE Champion ‘Macho Man’ Randy Savage was the spokesperson for Slim Jims. Almost two decades later, that deal has been rekindled by the WWE. The new ‘multi-layer partnership’ will begin at SummerSlam 2023 in Detroit.

Speaking to the media, WWE confirmed that the sponsors would be present at Survivor Series 2023 in November, the 2024 Royal Rumble, and WrestleMania 40. Craig Stimmel, the head of Global Sales and Partnerships, told the media that there would be a 20-man Battle Royal at SummerSlam 2023 in honor of the renewed partnership with Slim Jim.

Spencer Fivelson, VP and the General Manager of Snacks at Conagra Brands, who owns Slim Jims, said, “We’re thrilled to be back in the ring with WWE to build on our shared history and celebrate the Savage energy of today’s WWE Superstars.” This was about the iconic Randy Savage commercial “Snap into a Slim Jim” from around 30 years ago.

Not only will Slim Jim be the biggest sponsor of WWE matches, but they will also have control over other aspects of WWE television. They will feature custom social media content with WWE stars, online sweepstakes, and in-store activations. This historic sponsorship deal shows that even while McMahon deals with personal issues, the company is in good hands and will continue to flourish.

Vince McMahon is on leave from the WWE due to personal reasons.

McMahon retired from the WWE in June 2022. However, he did return to the company earlier this year. According to reports, the former CEO of the WWE underwent an intensive five-hour spinal surgery. As a result, McMahon is on leave from the company since July 21.
