During his Sports Illustrated interview, Bryan Danielson appeared to talk about several things. Naturally, the interviewer had several questions for the wrestler. The wrestler couldn’t help but recall his days in WWE. Then, Danielson probably felt compelled to credit John Cena for the development that he saw in his career. He recalled the advice regarding surrounding one’s self with the right type of people.

The former 4-time WWE champion confessed, “It was actually John Cena who I first heard say this–you become the five people you spend the most time around. So who do you want to become? The guys taking everything lightly? Or the guys, from a storyline perspective, taking this seriously and working to become the best?”

Even though WWE didn’t make Danielson ‘the face of the company’, he still remembers this advice. The AEW star probably found it useful throughout the course of his career.

Fans who have been following John Cena for a good amount of time are aware that he doesn’t hold back on giving advice. In fact, when the legend got the chance to do so on a public platform, he went all in to directly send a message to the budding generation of wrestlers.
